About Chaya Shapiro

Morah Chaya is a graduate of the Toronto Seminary, where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in humanities. She has more than 25 years of early childhood classroom experience and currently serves as the Director of Professional Development at Torah Academy for Girls in Far Rockaway, NY.

Morah Chaya’s warm, supportive style and ability to identify and utilize the strengths of each individual student consistently earns her accolades from parents and teachers alike. Through the use of differentiated instruction she has built a reputation as a teacher’s teacher, whose classroom lessons serve as role models for preschool teachers worldwide.

Session 1: Seeing your students in 3D

In this workshop, teachers will learn the skills of addressing problematic behavior in the classroom by utilizing Morah Chaya’s 3D method. Difficult moments will turn into teachable moments.

Session 2: A Dollar and a Dream - Creating Classroom Games and Activities on a Budget

Join Morah Chaya on a creative journey in how to use dollar store and household items to create fun and enriching activities for your preschool students. Through these games and activities, your students will be engaged, having fun and, most of all, learning.

Session 3: The Magic of Multi Sensory teaching in Preschool

Using multisensory techniques—such as incorporating visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic components into lessons, and finding sensory modalities through which students learn best—teachers will learn how to maximize students’ classroom experiences.

Session 4: A Practical Guide for “All In” Teaching

Learn the triple As of “All In” teaching and how to become fully engaged and immersed in your craft. Morah Chaya will inspire participants to reconnect with their internal motivation and passion to be an “All In” teacher and provide practical strategies for every part of the day, as well as effective solutions for common and uncommon challenges.

Session 5: Creating a Caring and Connected Classroom; in the Room or on Zoom

For students to successfully learn they must first feel a connection with their teacher. This session will explore teaching methods that promote building connections as well as techniques to engage every student. Learn these practical strategies and how they can be implemented both in the room and on Zoom.

Session 6: Ten Tips for a Connected Class

In this session you will gain hands on practical strategies that you can use in your classroom tomorrow.  This will change the culture to one of caring  and connection where you’re students will be ready to learn and grow.

Session 7: Building a Classroom Family

In this 4 part series, learn to build a classroom family through experiencing it yourself. You will learn to create an emotionally safe environment filled with connections and clear expectations where students will have an optimal learning experience. Get ready to experience a fun and connected learning environment that will provide you with classroom strategies, ideas and inspiration to unite your students and fellow teachers!
